Michigan Persons With Disabilities Civil Rights Act

In the recent case of Bachman v Swan Harbour Ass'n, the Michigan Court of Appeals decided on August 9, 2002, that under the Michigan Persons With Disabilities Civil Rights Act, a landlord is required to provide a disabled tenant with reasonable accommodations in "rules, policies, practices, or services" necessary for a tenant's enjoyment of the premises. In addition, only those accommodations that will not result in undue hardship on the landlord are required.
